🎉 Happy New Year, My Friend! 🎉
As we step into 2025, it’s the perfect time to continue the journey we started last week with the second half of my Self-Brain Surgery™ gifts and encouragements. These are designed to help you rewire your brain, reorder your mind, and transform your life.
The new year is a fresh start, and these tools—rooted in neuroscience and faith—can help you approach it with hope, purpose, and resilience.

6. Generosity Changes the Brain
Scripture reminds us of the power of giving: "It is more blessed to give than to receive." – Acts 20:35. God designed us to live generously, and science confirms the benefits.
🧠 Neuroscience Insight: Acts of kindness activate the reward pathways in your brain, increasing feelings of happiness and connection. Start small: give your time, your attention, or even a kind word to someone today. You’ll not only bless them—you’ll bless your own brain, too.
7. Prayer Calms the Mind
Paul’s advice is timeless: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." – Philippians 4:6.
🧠 Neuroscience Insight: Prayer reduces activity in the amygdala, the part of the brain responsible for fear and anxiety. It also increases activity in areas linked to peace and focus. This year, make prayer a daily habit—not just for requests, but to express gratitude and seek God’s wisdom.
8. Memories Matter
Like Mary, we are called to treasure and ponder the moments of our lives: "But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart." – Luke 2:19.
🧠 Neuroscience Insight: Cherishing positive memories strengthens neural pathways for joy and gratitude. Reflect on the blessings of the past year, even if it was challenging. What lessons can you carry forward? What moments brought joy?
🎁 Challenge: Write down three cherished memories from 2024, and revisit them when you need encouragement.
9. Hope is Healing
Hope is central to our faith: "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him." – Romans 15:13.
🧠 Neuroscience Insight: Hope activates regions of the brain associated with motivation and goal-setting. Even in difficult circumstances, hope gives us the energy to move forward. This year, focus on the promises of God and the opportunities ahead.
🎁 Activity: Create a “hope jar” for 2025. Write down your prayers, goals, and dreams, and revisit them throughout the year to see how God is working in your life.
10. Love Never Fails
Paul’s famous words ring true: "And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love." – 1 Corinthians 13:13.
🧠 Neuroscience Insight: Love releases oxytocin, the “bonding hormone,” which strengthens relationships and promotes emotional well-being. This year, choose love—especially when it’s hard. It will transform your relationships and your brain.
🎁 Reminder: Loving others starts with loving yourself. Treat yourself with kindness, speak to yourself with grace, and allow God’s love to fill your heart.
A New Year, A New You
As we begin this new year, remember that change starts in the mind. Romans 12:2 reminds us: "Be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Living from a mind-down perspective—harnessing the power of faith and neuroscience—can help you achieve the abundant life God promises.
I’ve created a free BRAIN Goals™ Guide for you! It will help you align your mindset to your mission and set goals to make 2025 your best year yet!
