The Settle-for-More Shift
A powerful new self-brain surgery operation for you, and bonus for paid subscribers!
In this audio-only episode, we continue with 100 days of exploring self-brain surgery as a mechanism for personal growth and transformation, leading up to the launch of my next book, The Life-Changing Art of Self-Brain Surgery. If you’re only watching the podcast on YouTube, you’ll miss this one unless you click below to listen on Spotify or Apple. Make sure you’re subscribed there so you don’t miss audio-only episodes.
Today, I’m teaching you a new operation called the “Settle for More Shift,” focusing on overcoming feelings of stagnation and dissatisfaction. I empower listeners to reassess their mindsets and identify areas of complacency through self-assessment and practical strategies like journaling.
By fostering a growth mindset and using visualization techniques, I encourage you to replace limiting beliefs with empowering narratives. This journey emphasizes aligning your goals with deeper callings while resisting fear and self-doubt.
I provide tools for proactive mental health and personal growth, inviting you to embrace the potential within and embark on a path of transformation.
Settling for less can keep you stuck
For the paid subscribers, I’m bringing you a short video I shot in 2022 during a run outside. I want you to see this, because you need to know that even I (the guy who always talks about changing your life) have had periods where I felt stuck and needed to change. You see, I’d been stuck in a seemingly-endless season of overwork, and I had gotten really out of shape. I’d gained a lot of weight and started to feel like I was never going to be able to get healthy and strong again.
But on this day, I made a decision: I was going to start. And even though it was hard, and I was nervous that I’d lost so much ground compared to how I used to be, I knew that starting was the only way I would ever be able to make it back.
And so, here’s me running outside in June of 2022, thirty pounds overweight, out of breath, and frustrated. But don’t miss this: I started. And over the past three years, Lisa and I have made dramatic changes in our lives, our bodies, our health, our fitness, and our mental health.
I had been settling for less, and every day, I got better at being stuck (the ninth commandment of self-brain surgery). Check it out, and soon I’m going to give you an updated thought on the power of getting started. Hint: check out Zechariah 4:10! Paid subscribers- go to the end of the post to watch the video!
