What to Do When Your Brain Won't Let You Sleep
One night last year, there was a terrible storm, and I couldn't sleep. After hours of tossing and turning, I remembered a song from Matt Redman called Songs in the Night. One of the lines is, "So when I am in the storm, Lord the storm is not in me."
Then I remembered Psalm 77, in which Asaph handles anxiety and insomnia by singing... songs in the night!
Most of the time when I can't sleep, though, it's not because of a storm outside. Usually, it's in my own brain.
Join me for quiet time this morning and we'll get our minds right for the coming day.
We finish with prayer and a song from Highlands Worship, Jesus You Alone.
